Where We Are From
Even before NP4 was founded, NP4's two owners—Achim Polinski and Felix Schroth—had worked together on various IT projects. Back in the mid 1990s, Achim Polinski had developed a prototype for the company START Amadeus, a leading IT solutions provider for the Travel Industry, to allow travel agents to send travel itineraries directly from their desks. He found support in Felix Schroth, who worked at that time as a freelancer in the administration of company networks. Discovering a good working relationship and many synergies, these two professionals founded NP4 GmbH in November 1997 (at that time called Net Per4mance GmbH). Their target was to develop and operate high-performance, centrally-organized systems that, in relation to productivity, needed little human power.
Strictly for customer Amadeus Germany, the new company's itinerary solution quickly became the standard product for sending itineraries within all of Amadeus' German-speaking markets. Over a decade later, this product's circulation is approximately 1.4 million documents per month. Building on the founders' experiences working in GDS-booking environments, NP4’s product portfolio has expanded and more projects have been launched.
